You've been dealing with this for a long time. And you're starting to wonder if it's ever going to get better.

You've tried things. Maybe a lot of things. Some helped for a bit. Most didn't really change anything. You've been told to rest. You've been told to move more. You've had scans. You've seen people. You've followed advice that made sense at the time. And yet here you are.

The pain is still there. But it's not just the pain anymore. Your sleep is suffering. Your mood is suffering. The people around you are affected. You've pulled back from things you used to do. Some days it feels like the person you were before the pain is getting further away.

You're not sure what's actually safe to do. You don't know who to believe. And somewhere underneath all of it is a fear you haven't said out loud: that this is just how it's going to be now. That it's going to keep getting worse. That fear is worth taking seriously. So is the possibility that there's still somewhere useful to go from here.

The Adapt Pain Program won't promise to take your pain away. What it will do is help you understand what's driving it, cut through the conflicting advice, and give you real tools to stop it running your life.

WHAT THIS ACTUALLY IS

What happens in the program

Over 8 weeks, you meet as a small group of up to 10 people for one hour each week. Each session combines education and guided movement.

The focus is on pain science: what pain actually is, why it persists, and what influences it. That includes things like how your nervous system works, how sleep and stress feed into pain, and how to start moving with more confidence again.

It's not group therapy. It's not a generic exercise class. It sits somewhere between seeing someone one-on-one and trying to figure it out on your own. Structured enough to get somewhere, but relaxed enough to ask questions and go at your own pace.

Before you join, you'll have a short suitability session to make sure the program is the right fit.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

Why this isn't like other things you've tried

Most people who come to this program have already done the rounds. They've had scans, seen a GP, tried physio, maybe tried ignoring it. Something helped a little, or nothing did. The pain is still there, and by now it's not just physical. It's affecting sleep. It's affecting mood. It's affecting what you can do and who you feel like you are.

It's exhausting. And it's hard to stay hopeful when you've already tried so much.

What's usually missing isn't more treatment. It's understanding. Understanding what's actually driving the pain, what's making it worse, and what genuinely helps.

This program won't tell you the pain isn't real.

It won't promise a cure. What it will do is give you an honest, evidence-informed framework for understanding your situation and a set of strategies you can actually use.

The program is run by Samuel Bulten, an Exercise Physiologist with a Masters in Pain Management. It's informed by contemporary pain science and behaviour-change frameworks, including training through Modern Pain Care's Pain Practice OS framework. This isn't a generic wellness program.

YOU'RE NOT IN THIS ALONE

Something happens in a group

One of the unexpected things people mention after doing this program is the group itself.

When you're living with persistent pain, it can feel isolating. Other people don't always get it. You might have started to question yourself.

Being in a room with people who genuinely understand what that's like changes something. You hear how others describe their experience. You pick up things from their questions you wouldn't have thought to ask. You realise you're not the only one who's felt lost or frustrated or let down by the process.

The group is small by design. No more than 10 people. It stays personal.

WHAT TO EXPECT

What the 8 weeks look like

O1.

Before you start:

  • A short suitability session with Samuel to understand your situation and confirm the program is a good match for you.

O4.

What you'll leave with:

  • Not just information. Practical strategies you can actually use day to day.

  • Most people finish the program with a clearer picture of their pain and a better sense of how to manage their days around it.

O2.

Each week:

  • One hour, in a small group. Sessions include education, discussion, and guided movement.

  • You'll also work with reflection tools to help track what's shifting for you.

O5.

A note on expectations

  • This program is not designed to eliminate pain. It's designed to help you understand it, reduce its grip on your life, and give you more tools than you had before.

O3.

Topics covered across the program include:

  • How pain works in the body and nervous system

  • How stress, sleep, and mindset influence pain

  • How to pace activities so you're not stuck in boom-bust cycles

  • How to build confidence and get back to things that matter to you

WHO THIS IS FOR

Is this for you?

This program tends to suit people who:

  • Have had pain for three months or more

  • Feel stuck, unsure what's safe to do, or why nothing has really worked

  • Are tired of conflicting advice and want a clearer framework

  • Want to understand their pain, not just mask it

  • Are ready to try something different and put in a bit of effort each week

You don't need to be at rock bottom to benefit. You just need to be at a point where you want more clarity and a better way forward.

A note on what this program isn't:

It's not designed to treat mental health or psychiatric conditions. It focuses on education, movement, and self-management, and works best alongside, not instead of, any medical care you're already receiving.
